Description

The Wall is the eleventh studio album by the English progressive rockgroup Pink Floyd. Released as a double album on 30 November 1979, it wassubsequently performed live with elaborate theatrical effects, and adapted intoa feature film, Pink Floyd – The Wall.

As with the band's previous three LPs, The Wall is a concept album anddeals largely with themes of abandonment and personal isolation. It was firstconceived during their 1977 In the Flesh Tour, when bassist and lyricist RogerWaters's frustration with the spectators' perceived boorishness became so acutethat he imagined building a wall between the performers and audience. The albumis a rock opera that centres on Pink, a character Waters modelled afterhimself, with some aspects based on the band's original leader, Syd Barrett.Pink's life experiences begin with the loss of his father during the SecondWorld War, and continue with ridicule and abuse from his schoolteachers, anoverprotective mother and finally, the breakdown of his marriage. Allcontribute to his eventual self-imposed isolation from society, represented bya metaphorical wall.

Subjective

This press is in excellent condition, it is abeautiful looking record and retains all of its deep mirror-like lustre andshine and has no apparent groove-wear.

Playing

I recently played it again, the tracks Ilistened to played through lovelly.  Idon’t think it has any significant hissing, jumps, skips, between track crackleand nasty loud pops.

History

It has been in my collection since new andonly played a few times on a quality turntable.

Defintions

NearMint Condition

Verynearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light papersleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. Some would class thisas mint. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtuallyperfect - very minimal wear only.

ExcellentCondition

Aclean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two lightneedle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under stronglight. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with nodistortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwearor edgewear.
