Description
Very Rare SOLID BLUE TRIANGLE, Very First Pressing of The Dark Side Of The Moon A2/B2 Matrix.
This Record and Sleeve is complete with all the original posters and stickers and is in excellent condition and includes the following.
Original Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd Very First Issue Gatefold Sleeve which has the "Flip-Back" Sealed folding opening edge, (all later issues had exposed cut edge) and right hand single opening pocket.
Pink Floyd 6 Picture Poster and The Blue Pyramid Poster, both in excellent condition and nver been pinned to walls as most were.
The rare pair of stickers, matching FasPrint "crack back" both in excellent condition, intact and never been opened.
The very rare dark Side Of The Moon Circle Sticker on the front of the sleeve.
Matt Black polythened lined inner sleeve which was only issued with the first pressing Blue Triangle.
The record is on the original first issue Harvest Label which has "The Gramophone Co Ltd" around the top perimeter of the label and Made In Gt Britain at the base of the Label.
Original matrix SHVL 804 A/2 B/2.
The surface of the record is excellent, there are some very feint surface marks visible, but these are mainly only seen under a very strong light. The record plays very well, if critical there are some very light surface static/background noises detected but this is mainly restricted to the opening tracks where the needle has landed. The vinyl is the early, much thicker and heavier vinyl than that of the later issues and the edge is much more blunt than a later pressing. The record shows a slight wobble when it revolves on the turntable, but it does not suffer from distorted sound quality and has been played through on a Linn LP12, a Thorens TD260S and on a budget Sony deck without any problems whatsoever.
The Solid Blue Triangle Harvest Labels are in excellent condition. They are very clean and show only minimum signs of any spindle marking. There is no writing or old labels marks, superb original condition.
The Sleeve is Excellent. This is the rare first issue sleeve which has a distinctive midnight blue tint to the colour and a matt finish. The later issues were black with a gloss sheen. There are no creases or tears, all the edges are straight and there is no wear to the edges or corners. The spine is perfect, again no wear. There are no traces of old price labels nor any unwanted writing, no worn opening edges, a fabulous original sleeve in exceptional condition complete with the original Dark Side sticker.
No need to list the tracks as you no doubt know them all.
