Pink Floyd followed the commercial breakthrough of Dark Side of the Moon with Wish You Were Here, a loose concept album about and dedicated to their founding member Syd Barrett. The record unfolds gradually, as the jazzy textures of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" reveal its melodic motif, and in its leisurely pace, the album shows itself to be a warmer record than its predecessor. Musically, it's arguably even more impressive, showcasing the group's interplay and David Gilmour's solos in particular. And while it's short on actual songs, the long, winding soundscapes are constantly enthralling. (courtesy Allmusic)
CONDITION OF THE RECORD:
(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, we grade ALL records under a strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight).
- THIS ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED. We believe, therefore, it should be in MINT condition. NOTE> WE HAVE NO WAY OF INSPECTING THIS ITEM and we are selling it on an "as-is" basis.
- The record is apparently pressed on beautiful, THICK, semi-flexible vinyl. This vinyl was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such vinyl pressings is full-bodied, bright and rich in quality.
- Quality speaking, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior digital recording!!
CONDITION OF THE 'sealed' COVER:
THE COVER IS NICE; GRADED VG+
The following flaws or imperfections are found on the cover:
- Cover has the smallest amount of ring impression (not significant - some will not see it); on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring impression as 1 (front) and 1 (back).
- Cover may have a bit of corner wear (cannot tell under tight shrink), not significant. On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of corner wear as a 1.
- Cover shows some storage wear; CAUTION>white graying around blue edges of seams and spine (please see picture below). On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of (perhaps) cover wear as a 3. How much of the 'white graying' is on the LP cover, or just how much is on the shrink wrap is difficult to determine. Again, since LP is sealed we have no way of inspecting this and must sell on an 'as-is' basis.
