Description

Just recently I bought a massive collection of 60's and 70's LPs...some are in surprisingly immaculate condition, and some are not, but the original owner (a well-respected Australian vinyl hoarder) was a fastidious collector of the styles he loved - 60's beat/punk/garage, British invasion well-knowns [Beatles/Hollies/Dave Clark 5/Gerry & The Pacemakers/Zombies/Troggs/Rolling Stones, etc..], 70's West Coast sounds, pop-psych and he'd obviously forraged far and wide since there's a flurry of unique South American, New Zealand,Taiwanese, South African, Japanese releases amongst them all.

Here then, is one of the LPs from his collection:

ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?:    Not the very first, as this had the round mechanical-handshake sticker on a blue outer shrinkwrap, whereas this sticker is on the cover itself...but still one of thee first issues...(only the first set of issues had the 'SOPO-100' catalogue number - it soon after changed to '25AP-1258').

Matrix numbers might help you - (both stamped) are: 

 SIDE ONE:    SOPO-100A1    1 A 1 5

 SIDE TWO:   SOPO-100B1    1 A 3  

Comes complete with these following inserts:

1) Insert: A 4-page insert with song listing, lyrics in Japanese, and a history of the band in Japanese.
2) Poster: A 6-pane fold-open poster of a diving man with the CBS / Sony logo and "SOPO 100" in the lower left corner of the poster. Written in the right lower border is "Hipgnosis 1975."
3) Postcard: A postcard of the diving man with jagged edges.

4) Plain Card: A square plain white card, almost the size of the album cover. No writing on it at all. Presumably to make the whole package more sturdy and solid (which it succeeds in doing).

CONDITION:

COVER: ( VG++ )...HAS MINOR RINGWEAR, PLUS A COUPLE OF EQUALLY MINOR CREASES & EDGE CRINKLES (see pix)...AND NOTHING ELSE, REALLY, TO COMPLAIN ABOUT...

RECORD: ( VG++ )...VERY SHINY COPY STILL...HAS A FEW LIGHT 'HAIR-LINE' MARKS/SCUFFS ONLY (MOSTLY JUST ON SIDE ONE)...BUT NOTHING HEAVY AT ALL...AND IT PLAYS SO CLOSE TO MINT!!... 

LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT )...

Insert, poster, plain card, and postcard are all MINT/un-used.
