c. 1917 these short-lived vertical recordings are usually found in poor condition; Here are three playable examples with scarce sleeves:
CONDITION: #7 E-/E
#52 E-/VV+ s.2 has some stripping at start may skip
#12 V noisy starts with tight 1/2" hairline
Product of the Paroquette Record Manufacturing Company, founded 1916 (in New York) by Fred Van Eps and Henry Burr.
Starting December 1916 they produced 2-sided vertical records. Sold initially for 25 cents.
Short-lived label with assets auctioned May 1918 in Brooklyn.
A slash grade(E/E-) indicates the second side is E-
A VV+ grade indicates the record is between V and V+
Many 78's are hearable on youtube...
Grading is visual using VJM definitions(VJM.BIZ)-the worldwide standard for grading 78RPM records.
