Piranha – Headed in the Right Direction – Amazon South Records – 1981 - Private Press Alabama Modern Soul / Funk – Rare
I think Piranha is such a great name for a band. Add a label called Amazon South Records and you’ve got a winning formula. Killer modern soul / funk LP out of Mobile, Alabama. Practically no information on this one, but some top notch early 80’s funk and modern soul business here. The standout cut for me is “One-Sided Love” with a deep infectious melody and nice uptempo rhythm. Highly recommended modern dancefloor tune. Also two deep 80’s funk tunes: “Good Time Lady” and “Funk-A-Sol” which are floor pleasers as well. Heavy stuff and quite rare. No reserve.
