Totally unknown, uncomped (the A side at least) and AMAZING UK Sergeant Pepper toytown pop psychedelia that'll blow away fans of the Beatles, Koobas, Smoke, Apple and all those other revered Rubble bands from the British isles - and this band isn't even from the UK! They were obviously listening to the British scene though. From 1969, this is the Pleasure with "Poor Old Organ Grinder" b/w "Don't Take the Night Away" on the Tower label. "Organ Grinder" starts off with a pipe organ solo straight out of Crystal Blue Persuasion, then goes into a loping toytown popsike melody with odd trippy carousel breaks like a psychedelic circus. Tons of sound effects thrown in, different sections, melodies and counter-melodies - pretty complex for a single and quite LONG too! Reminds me a lot of the Koobas similar-themed "Circus". And this killer track is, as of yet, UNCOMPED! The B-side, however, did make an appearance on Psychedelic Unknowns 11 and the Slowly Growing Insane CD comp, and it's a great song too - starts with echoed ominous piano chords, bizarre megaphone-distorted vocals, and tons of effects all over the chorus. This is more of a serious, baroque style trippy psych track, with distorted treated vocals and sparse backing of bass, over-echoed piano and strings. Simply two of the finest psych tracks ever. Fuzz Acid and Flowers agrees. Original pressing on the Tower label from 1969. Vinyl plays EXCELLENT with minimal surface noise if any. Some small writing on labels.
