DESCRIPTION:
wiki: Drum 'n' Bass for Papa is an album by the experimental electronic music artist Luke Vibert under his alias of Plug. The album was originally released on vinyl in 1996 (see 1996 in music) by Blue Planet Recordings. The alias Plug was used by Vibert to release Drum 'n' Bass oriented music.
The photograph on the cover is of Frank Vibert, Luke's grandfather, who was a keen amateur magician.

This is easily one of the most amazing and fantastic electronic albums ever released. The drum programming is simply ingenious, rivaling Squarepusher for sheer originality and complexity. The sampling is remarkable, sometimes creepy, sometimes beautiful, sometimes hysterical...in fact I found myself laughing outloud numerous times during this [recording]. I'm a huge Luke Vibert fan as it is, and I suppose this is what you would expect from his brilliant reworking of the drum and bass genre.
The album is like a refreshing breeze. Most of it is a joy to listen to, invoking memories of earlier 90's jungle goodness while at the same time managing to sound modern and original, even if the album is 5 years old (sic). The emphasis of this album is firmly placed on the beats, which skitter around all over the place, constantly changing and evolving, never getting tired. While the emphasis is on the beats, the other elements of the music have definitly not been neglected, and provide a very rich and entertaining listen.
