Description
You are looking at an unplayed vinyl LP of ‘Nosferatu’ by Popol Vuh, the Original Soundtrack to the film of the same name by Werner Herzog. This issue is on the Spalax labeol and I believe intended for the French market. As you’ll see, it has a different sleeve to the classic film poster artwork variant.
I bought the album from a record shop in Wiltshire in 2008. It was still sealed and consequently unplayed.
Immediately after purchase, I removed the album from the shrink and sheathed it in a heavy duty clear PVC gatefold outer sleeve and removed the disc from the cheap paper inner sleeve and slid the disc into a high quality polylined inner. The album has been stored carefully ever since in my smoke-free home.
As I say, it is unplayed, as I have two CD versions CD. This version of the LP is of course deleted and hard to find in tip-top condition. It seems to go for silly money even used, but I’ve tried to offer it at a sensible price here.
I would grade this record as Near Mint to Mint (as I say, it is unplayed, but I reserve Mint grading only for items that are still sealed in shrinkwrap) and the grading for the sleeve would be excellent plus to near mint, apart from some minor ringwear and a crease right across the top right corner at the front – it’s a long crease but not that bad, so this and the ringwear are the only sleeve issues.
I should say the picture doesn't do it service - I can be a bit rubbish even with a digicam and couldn't capture this item without a reflection!
The record will be supplied in the PVC outer sleeve. Packaging will be a professional cruciform cardboard mailer source from Covers33, the record collecting accessories dealer all the pros use.
