Description
An RIAA 2 x Platinum Record Award for Prince’s album Diamonds and Pearls, presented to Russ Thyret, the Warner Bros. executive who famously signed Prince to the label—Prince’s first recording contract.
Russ Thyret (1944-2021), was a former Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Records. In 1976, while head of promotion for Warner Bros., Thyret heard Prince’s demo tape, and immediately recognized that the unknown artist had enormous potential. After signing Prince, the two worked closely together for many years.
Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold is a former Executive Vice President/General Manager of Warner Bros., and worked closely with both Prince and Russ Thyret. Gold was the art director for a number of Prince’s album covers, including Diamonds and Pearls. He obtained this directly from Thyret’s estate.
An extraordinary Prince collectible from the collection of the Warner Bros. executive who signed him to his first recording contract.
With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee, signed by Jeff Gold
