"The Prisoner" is, of course, a legendary, iconic, hugely influential 17-episode British television series first broadcast in the United Kingdom in 1967 and 1968. "The Prisoner" had a much beloved music - "The Prisoner’s musical shadow stretches further into pop culture... Artists as different as Iron Maiden, Supergrass, Roy Harper, The Clash, Michael Penn, XTC, Dhani Harrison and more have riffed directly or indirectly off of The Prisoner." (Scott Thill)
This is the COMPLETE 1986 DELUXE FIRST EDITION of the "Prisoner" soundtrack - including foldout (open-out) cover with original circular Prisoner item sticker and including ALL inserts: 24-page booklet "The Making of the Prisoner"; Six of One Prisoner Appreciation Society Associate Membership slip; Map of the Village; Gatefold credits/poster; Photographic inner sleeve! A collector's item since decades and almost impossible to find nowadays in its COMPLETENESS! Was only listed two times (!) on eBay during the last 10 years!
4 stars in "AllMusic": "Like many a cult TV show, the success of ITC's 'The Prisoner' rested on terrific music, with a cracking opening theme by Ron Grainer that set the tone for the series to come. Grainer, responsible for many famous British TV show themes, opted out of the general scoring, leaving that to Albert Elms." This soundtrack "boasts 23 tracks of incidental music and three versions of the opening theme, and demonstrates how Elms was able to expand on Grainer's title theme, especially in the use of the post-surf electric guitar which more often than not signified secret agents in the '60s, beginning with "The James Bond Theme." But Elms' borrowed styles and sounds from whatever the script called for, whether to score for a dreamy nightclub sequence (some nice space age bachelor pad music), the Village's marching band, or the more expected chase and fighting music."
Rare original First pressing. Both cover and record are in a very strong EXCELLENT CONDITION, almost Near Mint! The cover has minimal ring wear on the back side, minimal scuffs on two corners. All inserts are in excellent condition (see pictures) = E+
The record has only one short scuff in track 9, short crackling (5 seconds) on side 2, besides that it is Near Mint= E+

All of my records are carefully packed in sturdy cardboard mailers. I will add two cardboard supports, and the record will be out of sleeve to prevent seam splits.
