QUESTION MARK & THE MYSTERIANS
\ USA - Cameo Parkway - C 200 6 - MONAURAL - PROMOTIONAL
The RARE second album...as great or even better than the first ~~ CLEAN Original 1967 first pressing vinyl -- this is a advance released PROMOTIONAL (stamped in blue on back cover and promotional text on labels) ....
In the 8 months that passed from their 1966 album "96 Tears" -- many things happened in the world of rock in the United States: With the appearance of the "heavy" bands such as the Doors, Velvet Underground and the groups of the San Francisco scene dominating the musical scene, garage rock music suddenly under went a big change, very different (i.e. psychedelic sounds) from only 8 months prior in 1966 and meanwhile Question Mark & The Mysterians delivered a blue print of their famous garage punk sounds, basically using the 96 Tears formula with its contagious riffs of farfisa organ being the characteristic along with Question Marks punky attitude vocal delivery. The tracks across both sides are very catchy and oozing with "cool" ...with a touch of fuzz in the guitar and roller coaster farfisa organ in the great opening track, “Girl (You Captivate Me", The Mysterians cook, releasing the brakes and groove through originals, peaking on the rave-up jam “Shout” ...and more prominent driving sound amid fuzz guitar in “Do You Feel It” and onward through side two...but sadly, it is no wonder this LP, Action, is the goodbye album by the group incapable to re-invent itself over to the 1967 now sounds focus of psychedelia. Question Mark & The Mysterians stayed obstinately faithful to the garage punk scene of the mid sixties and sank into undeserved obscurity....Best tracks all over the place, including "Can't Get Enough Of You Baby", (which actually placed #56 on the singles charts) "Hangin' On A String" "Girl (You Captivate Me"(#98 on the Billboard singles charts), "Don't Hold It Against Me", "Do You Feel It", to name a few...Harder to find by leaps and bounds from their 96 Tears Lp, and not getting any easier to find...1 Girl (You Captivate Me) 2:17

3 Got To 2:22
