Velvet Underground PROMOTIONAL SET
for the Re-Loaded
boxed set
up for auction here are two items just issued
by Rhino / Atlantic / Cotillion to promote the 2015 release
of the Re-Loaded reissue of the Velvet Underground 'Loaded'
album. the new set is an awesome exhaustive reissue called
Re-Loaded 45th Anniversary Edition 6-CD Set
this auction is for the promotional items only and not the boxed set!
what we have here is a 7" FLEXI-DISC record that
has the "Rock & Roll" (demo) Version on it. it comes with
artwork in a clear sleeve. the artwork insert has memories and
thoughts on the VU album 'Loaded' by Luna / Galaxie 500
and Dean & Britta musician Dean Wareham.
the promotional record also comes with a special
Newspaper / Poster called 'The Velvet Underground Express'
which has notes by Tyler Wilcox in addition to blurbs written by
several musicians influenced by 'Loaded' and the Velvet Underground
including comments by Brian Eno + Sean Yeaton of Parquet Courts
Dean Wareham of Luna and Galaxie 500 + Jay Ferguson of Sloan
+ Stanley Demeski of the Feelies (and once of Luna) and more
the newspaper is actually printed on newsprint and has a
large poster on the back of it when fully unfolded. the poster
advertises the Loaded Re-Loaded 45th Anniversary Edition
and has rare photos of the Velvet Underground on it!
it comes folded in 4 sections and measures
approx 11.5" x 14" when unfolded in half and
when fully unfolded as a poster it
measures approx 14" x 23"

both are brand new and were only made available
as promotional items and are not commercially available
and they're said to have been made in very small numbers.
both are in fantastic condition, although the paper
has some creasing around the edges from how it was mailed
out to record shops (i got this at my fav local record shop when i pre-ordered the new VU Re-Loaded set
but since i don't have a record player, i
