The legendary Psych band, made world-famous by the song they DID NOT want to record ("Incense and Peppermints") was actually much better and professional unit than most of the fans and public at large realize. Their initial commercial success in effect obscured their subsequent efforts, thus making it much more difficult to appraise their musical and cultural impact. Worse still, while the first album, the above mentioned "Incense and Peppermints" is relatively common item, and easy to find in good shape, good luck to you in finding one of their three later albums. This one, which came out in late 1967 was the band’s sophomore effort, their second album, and a brilliant follow-up to the first one. Listening to it, one is found perplexed and wondering why a band with such apparent musical prowess and talent never really made it, and quickly lapsed into obscurity. This album will have you back in time in no time at all. The album holds like a cohesive unit; almost like a concept album. The songs are: NIGHTMARE OF PERCUSSION - SOFT SKIES, NO LIES - TOMORROW - THEY SAW THE FAT ONE COMING - CURSE OF THE WITCHES - SIT WITH THE GURU - GO BACK- PRETTY SONG FROM PSYCH OUT - SITTING ON A STAR - BLACK BUTTER TRILOGY (BLACK BUTTER PAST - PRESENT - FUTURE). Don’t miss out on this extremely hard-to-find album, and a beautiful relic of an era gone by
