Description
Here is an opportunity to buy the 3 x 12" 45 rpm vinyl version of the 1989 album 'Metal Box' by John Lydon's (Johnny Rotten's) innovative, groundbreaking outfit Public Image Limited (PIL). The vinyl discs are enclosed in their original metal film canister.
Cited by many leading musicians and music journalists as one of the most important albums ever released this set features the inimitable Jah Wobble on impossibly deep bass alongside John Lydon on vocals, Keith Levene on discordant guitar and Jeannette Lee on keyboards.
The catalogue number of the album is METAL 1.
I take great care with my records. I have always replaced them in their sleeves and stored them upright pressed between other albums. Accordingly all three discs and the paper 'vinyl dividers' are in excellent (near mint) condition. The tracklisting insert is only lightly worn. The metal tin has proved impossible to keep in pristine condition, despite my wrapping the whole package tightly in clingfilm since I bought it on it's initial release. However, despite some tarnishing there is no rust, and the condition of the tin is as good as I've seen on other examples of this album.

On 06-May-10 at 07:55:43 BST, seller added the following information: ERROR IN DESCRIPTION ABOVE!! The album was, of course, first released in 1979, NOT 1989. The package I am offering is also from 1979 - I bought it myself, brand new, in that year. Please accept my apologies for the typo.
