RARE ORIGINAL UK METAL BOX TRIPLE VINYL FIRST PRESSING OF THIS LEGENDARY PUNK CLASSIC.

IN GOOD CONDITION AND  COMPLETE WITH "METAL 1" STICKER ON BASE OF TIN, THE FOUR WHITE PAPER INSERTS CIRCULAR RECORD DIVIDERS, A PHOTOCOPY OF THE VERY RARE PAPER FLYER OF CREDITS AND TRACK LISTINGS ALL IN RED PRINT, AND INCLUDED AS A BONUS TO THE WINNER WITH THIS SALE IS A PHOTO COPY OF THE VERY RARE NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS FULL PAGE ADVERT FOR THE METAL BOX SET FROM DECEMBER 1st 1979. 

METAL BOX 1 RELEASED ON VIRGIN RECORDS METAL 1.

Released in 1979.

MATRIX NUMBERS ARE: METAL 1-A-2; 1-B-1; 1-C-2; 1-D-1; 1-E-1; 1-F-2.

RECORDS ALL VERY GOOD.

PAPER DIVIDERS ALL VERY GOOD, VERY CLEAN.

METAL BOX VERY GOOD CONDITION.

SMALL PAPER TRACKS AND CREDITS LISTINGS FLYER.

Records: The vinyl surface of all the records is very good, all have been played in the past, there are visible light surface marks/scuffs on the records and some markings in the vinyl sides C and D when viewed under a bright light.  

The Labels are very good, some light aging marking, clean labels. Classic PIL Black on side 1 and PIL Red on side 2 of each record. There is no writing, and there are no stickers on the labels, classic PIL logo on labels. 

Metal Box: The Metal Box is in very good condition, original box, still retaining much of the bright silver metallic finish, some light rusting staining and patinisation with age as expected. PIL embossed logo in centre of tin lid. Very tight fitting tin. There are some dents, particularly on rear of tin. A very tight fitting air tight lid which can be difficult to open, hence some signs of prising along edge and rim. METAL 1 label on base of tin. 

Paper Dividers: This set came with four circular white paper dividers protecting the the vinyl from each other and the metal tin surface. All Four white paper inner dividers are all in very good condition and still a tight fit in box. Some light handlling creases, all are clean and free from any writing etc. 

Paper Flyer: This is a true colour photocopy of the original A5 sized "hand printed" effect paper flyer which has all the track and credit listings is in excellent condition. Red print. No marks or tears, very clean condition. Please note this is an exact colour photocopy, originals are very rare as most of these were lost from the set!!

NME Metal Box Ad:  Purely as an added bonus I have included free with this purchase a COLOUR PHOTO COPY of the original Our Price FULL PAGE double sided advertisement from the New Musical Eexpress dated 1/12/1979. this has all tracks and lyrics, the other side is an advert for Our Price Record Stores. The original has aged over the years and has slightly discoloured.  

PLEASE NOTE; This is an exact colour photo copy reproduction of the original NME pages numbers 9 and 10, copied onto 2 sheets of approx A3 size paper and paper glued together, (the chart of december 1979 makes interesting reading !!)

Please be aware that this is NOT an original copy, it is a PHOTO COPY of the original, as is the A5 flyer, please do not bid if you think you are purchasing original copies, It has only been included for the benefit and enjoyment of the PIL fan or collector and adds to the interest of the Metal Box set.
