Description

This complete Columbia Graphophone recording of Puccini's opera 'Madam Butterfly' is on 14 Shellac 78s.  They are contained in a presentation case which is in good condition despite being over 90 years old.
Also included is a booklet containing the complete original Italian text with the full English translation.

The recording is a Columbia Masterworks Album and is sung in Italian.  It was made in 1929 with the chorus of La Scala di Milano and the Milan Symphony Orchestra under conductor Lorenzo Molajoli.

The main roles were sung by:
Rosetta Pampanini (Madam Butterfly) Alessandro Granda (Pinkerton) Conchita Velasquez (Suzuki) Gino Vanelli (Sharpless) Giuseppe Nessi (Goro) Cesira Ferrari (Kate Pinkerton) Aristide Baracchi (Prince Yamadori) Salvatore Baccaloni (The Bonze) Lino Bonardi (The Imperial Commissioner)

Please note that this set shows some slight wear and tear.  The presentation case is fully intact but the spine is worn.  All sleeves are in good condition, as is the booklet containing text.  The LPs haven't been played so I can't vouch for their quality.  PLEASE INSPECT ALL PHOTOS!  From a smoke and pet free home.

We are located in Trowse near Norwich, just a few mins drive from County Hall and the football ground, and 5 mins drive from the Southern Bypass.

***Please note that cash payment can be accepted on collection if preferred***
