Miguel Ángel Miranda de la Rosa (Manatí, Puerto Rico , September 16, 1916 - Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, April 14, 2017) [ 1 ] was a Puerto Rican trumpeter, [ 2 ] conductor, arranger, and composer of boleros, dances and danzones. He was also known as "Miguelito Miranda" and as "La Trumpeta de Oro". [ 3 ] His career spans more than fifty years. He was considered the best trumpeter in Puerto Rico.

He was named Favorite Son of Manatí , on January 8, 2007, "for his outstanding participation in the world of music, reaping laurels for his native land for his performances and compositions." [ 4 ]
