On 17-Oct-10 at 21:07:46 AEDST, seller added the following information:On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original AUSTRALIAN issue of THE PURPLE HEARTS second 7” single “Of Hopes and Dreams and Tombstones“, released on Sunshine Records. The A-side is an extremely obscure cover version of a NORTHERN SOUL/R&B recording by JIMMY FRASER (from late 1965), whilst the flip “I’m Gonna Try“ is a great RAVE-UP rendition of the JOE WILLIAMS tune, with superb fuzzy guitar and emotive vocals.
THE PURPLE HEARTS included Aussie Blues Legends MICK HADLEY and LOBBY LOYDE!
