Description

Pussy: same (aka "Pussy Plays") 1969, UK/Morgan Blue Town BT 5002. Disc is EX visually with only some very light hairline marks, plays M- all the way. The soft textured cover has no splits (a miracle!) but there is a small structural tear on the back side at the pocket (about 7/16", or 12mm, in the black border, it's hard to see and probably won't show in the photo), the front cover has some rubbing along the lower left edge that does not wrap around to the spine... the spine is perfectly readable. This cover gets a Good grade overall. Has a poly-lined inner sleeve with a 1970 date code on it that I assume is the original. ULTRA-RARE original UK pressing of this fantastic druggy prog psych LP! I can't recall that I've ever had a UK copy of this LP to offer, only Italian editions (several) which have all sold instantly to collectors who had given up on finding a British pressing. I love this LP, it's got a flavour unlike any other. "The Open Ground" is a trippy freakbeat monster with insane lyrics and fuzzed-out wah-wah guitar screaming incessantly; "Come Back June" sounds like a leftover from the Motherlight LP (guitarist Mike Bobak contributed to both LPs); but the band's forte was material that sounded like what Pink Floyd would have been writing if Syd Barrett hadn't left. Songs like the ethereal "We Built The Sun" with its oddly off-kilter arrangement and carefully-sung childlike lyrics have stood the test of time extremely well in my opinion. Hey, grab a reissue if you haven't heard this one, and if you've decided it's time to plant a real one in your garden, make your move.
