I am selling a very rare copy of Pantera's Power Metal

This is an independent label release - the first Pantera album with Phil Anselmo

This album was independently recorded by a local Texas label before recording Cowboys from Hell

t the time I was 16 and living in Dallas Tx where I and the Aboott brothers grew up (no I was no a childhood friend)

I used to see Pantera play regularly at an Arlington TX club called Metal Works at the peak of the 80s Metal Scene

They looked a little glam, but once they got Phil in the group they changed dramatically

They hardened up a lot and they were very fast, very loud, very heavy and super tight. Like Rush on Meth....or something like that.....

Back then and on this album Phil would metal scream like Tom Arya of Slayer meets Rob Halford - crazy high pitch metla screams

They sounded NOTHING like they would later on albums like Far Beyond Driven

Every time I saw them they would play two sets - the first was all from this album - Power Metal - the second was all covers - thye played Metallica ALL THE TIME - every gig I heard them play either Seek and Destroy or Am I Evil......one night they closed with Slayer's Raining Blood - it was great 

Back then Dimebab was actually "Diamond Darrell" and Rex was "Rex Rokker"....and this is what is printed on the album

I bought this directy from the band one night after a gig when I was 17 years old, and talked to "Diamond Darrell" that night.

He was drunk as hell and having a great time as always - he was cool and super friendly and funny as hell. And even back then - he was the best metal guitarist in all of Dallas hands down - wailing away on his Dean Blue Lightning Custom like a God Posessed.....true story.

I am the only owner of this pressing -  and I never played it 'cause I bought another copy and recorded it to Cassette Tape

This album is opened but MINT condition, flawless. Still with original insert

Been collecting vinyl for years, time to sell off the extras and copies to make room for family

This is the last of my auctions for a while; just had a newborn baby come to the world a couple days ago, so i gotta take a break from selling albums because im sleep deprived and exhausted....get em while you can....
