Description
A pretty nice copy of Paramount 12626: "Laugh Clown Laugh" and "I Can't Do Without You" as sung by a very "crooner-sounding" Jack Richmond. "I Can't Do" has a semi-hot-sounding instrumental in the middle, but this is primarily being sold for the rather nice sleeve it came in. The sleeve being offered has the "standard" Paramount Records front, with a slightly pulled-back curtain and some dancers, and another couple listening to a phonograph. On the back (shown) are titles from records in the 12300's and 12400's.
Record labels are pretty clean, and the recording quality is excellent (for Paramount, it's definately electrically recorded). Relatively low surface noise, but there are some heat marks on the recording surface that reduce enjoyment. Otherwise, this is an E- record.
The sleeve is in similar shape, clean, with no split seams, a few creases and a couple of minor tears around the center hole, but no missing chunks of paper.
All in all, not a bad set for the Paramount collector: an obscure race-series disc (how many copies of this one have you seen?) and a rather nice race sleeve.
