Description
Paramount Records (12552) 78 rpm release from the BEALE STREET SHEIKS. The Memphis based late-20's acoustic guitar blues duo featured FRANK STOKES and DAN SANE. Many consider STOKES to be the father of the Memphis style blues guiter. Tracks are: MR. CRUMP DON'T LIKE IT / BLUES IN "D". The labels are fairly clean with minimal wear and only light spindle marks. The record is V- with visual wear, graying and noise. The vocals and guitars do cut through but you can hear a lot of noise as evidenced on the sound files. At about the one minute mark of MR.CRUMP there is a slight skip. We have included it in the sound file and provided a scan of the cause, the brown mark on the last scan which feels like a groove dig. We were using a standard LP needle tracked at two grams so a more adequate 78 tone-arm and needle may have different results. The sound clips are unaltered from the original 78. We do have experience shipping 78's and strongly suggest Priority shipping. We pack in a padded 78 mailer box and then place it with peanuts in a No.7 USPS Priority box.
