Just listened to this for the first time in forever. IMO one of the most slept on p-funk records. So funky... maybe lacking on concepts compared to over releases, but groove... it's right up there.
Gloryhallastoopid (Or Pin the Tale on the Funky) is the eighth album by the funk ensemble Parliament. It was their penultimate album on the Casablanca Records label, and is another concept album which tries to explain that Funk was responsible for the creation of the universe the P Funk mythology. It reuses samples from previous albums, notably the Mothership Connection and Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome.
Parliament was an American funk band formed in the late 1960s by George Clinton as part of his Parliament-Funkadelic collective. More commercial and less rock-oriented than its sister act Funkadelic, Parliament drew on science-fiction and outlandish theatrics in their work.
