Pavlov's Dog Fans!! - Up for Auction is an extraordinarily RARE album by Pavlov's Dog.  The album is sealed in the original wrap and has never been opened.  At the time of purchase I bought 2; one to listen to and the other as a keep sake.  PLEASE READ BELOW ABOUT THE PHOTOS.  I have never seen this album anywhere else.  After 38 years I've decided to sell my unopened copy. 

The album being auction here was never released under a record label.  As a huge PD fan I bought this album from small record shop in St. Louis (Westport area).  At the time the shop owner told me he got these albums and that they were "bootlegged".  The band had made this album in very small quantities and it was not under the band original name due to complications with their contract and producer.  They could not be released under the bands name "Pavlov's Dog" for legal reasons; thus the name "St. Louis Hounds" on the cover and on the side of the album sleeve PDIII (Pavlov's Dog Third album).  I do not know the validity of his comments.  

PHOTOS: IMPORTANT READ THIS.  The Album up for auction is a brand new unopened old stock album I purchased in the late 70's early 80's (can't remember exact year).  The album in the photos that is out of the sleeve is NOT the album up for auction, but is the album that I opened and listened too.  I included these photos just for reference so you can see the album label.

"The band recorded a third album in 1977, but due to poor sales of the first two albums, Columbia refused to release it, hastening the band's split. The third album finally appeared as a bootleg in the 1980s, a limited edition pressed from stolen master tapes. It was released under the name The St. Louis Hounds, without Pavlov's Dog's name on the sleeve. The third album finally was released legally in 2007 by German label Rockville Music, titled Has Anyone Here Seen Siegfried?"

"Following a pair of iconic releases the dream was over…….  The invisible controllers of the radio dial began its program of corporate mediocrity, leaving David’s voice and vision a wreckage of commercial interests. The 1977 recording sessions for the third album Has Anyone Here Seen Sigfried were never finished, Pavlov`s Dog vanished traceless for 13 years.

 Curiously, the rumors and legends continued to swirl around. Some said David Surkamp took his own life as a suicide, others he died after helium inhalation, and worse. Still, unbelievably, all the rumors and naughtiness continued to raise Pavlov’s Dog’s cult. 

 A pair of Pavlov’s Dog releases found their way into the world during the 80’s and 90’s. The long-rumored 1977 lost third recording of unfinished work, Has Anyone Here Seen Siegfried, was bootlegged (and finally regulary released in 2007 by Rockville Music, with added 10 bonustracks), and the regular album Lost In America from 1990. 2001 David Surkamp released his solo album Roaring With Light."

THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE VERY RARE UNOPENED "BOOTLEGGED" COPY OF THEIR 3 RD LIMITED EDITION ALBUM.
