Description
For sale is an original vinyl LP recording of the free concert performed by several bands at Peacock Farm, in Bracknell Berks, in the summer of 1969.
I was in my late teens in the summer of 1969 and was listening to the bands play when I was asked if I would be interested in buying an LP of the concert if it were ever released. In my drunken state I obviously agreed and promptly forgot about it. Approx 2 months later I was the proud owner of the LP and played it quite a lot over the next few years.
The album features several bands local to the Bracknell area including Levee Camp Moan on side 1 and The John Thomas Blues Band, Thomas Houlihan, Frank Gillibrand and the St James Infirmary on side 2.
As can be seen from the photographs above, the album cover is a little faded and has a few tears around the binding, although to be fare, it was not made of the best quality when it was new in 1969 ! Also, there are no graphics inside the album cover as these were meant to be stuck onto the outer cover after being posted to me......They never arrived !
The inner sleeve in a bit creased and going slightly brown. The record itself has a few surface scratches but plays well. I do not pretend to be a vinyl record expert so I cannot grade this album as such, but I have tried to be as truthful as possible in describing its condition.
I don't believe there was an official publication of the number of LP's that were produced but I suspect that it was less than 99. Therefore I believe this LP is extremely rare !
There is no buy it now price, so don't ask. I will let the auction run its course.
