Peggy Lipton aka Peggy Lipton Jones (born August 30, 1946) is an American television actress. She played "Julie Barnes" in The Mod Squad, and Norma Jennings in Twin Peaks. Wrote the song "L.A. Is My Lady," recorded by Frank Sinatra.
Record companies are always looking for an edge. In the '60s it was television stars. The theory was that since they were already household names, a recording by them would be less of a risk. This was the first of two Ode albums by Peggy Lipton (hmm, i wasn't aware of a second album?), who played cool Julie Barnes on Mod Squad. The LP picked up some plays, and isn't bad, mainly because of the quality material. Lipton wrote four of the 11 songs: "Let Me Pass," "Memories of a Golden Weekend," "San Francisco Glide," and "Honey Won't Let Me." She has a flower child persona that occasionally branches.
