"Miles From Home" is the first album by Peshay. Released in 1999, it brought a very distincted line of Drum n' Bass, putting together acoustic elements with electronic, joining the past and the future. At that time, it came out as a different LP compared to the darker style emanating from artists such as Ed Rush & Optical, exposing a perspective of Drum n' Bass called 'New Jack' with deep Jazz influences. Illington deserves all the credits for bringing that Jazzy touch with his amazing improvised lines of Rhodes keyboards (you can flavour them on the track "Retro").

"Miles From Home" (which seems to be dedicated to the Jazz icon Miles Davis) has the same bassline melodies that EZ Rollers put on their hit "RS 2000". Since you get no credits for the bass player, you suppose it was sampled probably from any of Miles bands' classics.

The amazing vocals of the House diva Kym Mazelle, the same singer behind "Useless" from Marshall Jefferson - are present here as well, on "Truly" (Kym's vocals are one of the most sampled on the House Music history).

"Robotics" is an apology of the future where the synth lines drives us to standards from other genres of dance music - Electro for the type of beats and Techno for the synth lines (you have Dave Clarke's "Red 1" aggressive synths, and other amazing keyboard lines as well).

"P vs P" (Peshay x Photek) was made as a collaboration between both projects; the breaks part seems to be made by Photek, while the keyboards seems to be from Peshay's style (at that time, he used to aggregate several organic elements on his tunes, such as guitar, piano, flutes, etc).

"Pacific" can easily be considered one of Peshay's best creations ever. Based on the hottest Beats by Kool & The Gang (the original breaks are from "Give It Up" (1971), "Pacific"'s atmosphere has elements from the legendary Jazz-Funk era, but also from what we call Broken Beats or Future Jazz, combining the super-breaks with fantastic epic strings, pianos & flute lines. It's ensemble is a blend of sophistication, emotion and swing. The most amazing part is that Darren Beale A.K.A. Decoder is the sound engineer at Tech Itch Studio (as you may know, Tech Itch is well-known for a heavier and darker side of Drum n' Bass).

Please be aware most of my records are over 20 years old, i’m currently recording my tracks to laptop to create some space at home, if they don’t play right I don’t sell them (or any issues are clearly pointed out) I’m honest with my descriptions, I’m not a big fan or grading as records can play differently on peoples setups, mine are tested on a project turntable (Ortofon Stylus) through a pioneer mixer into JBL professional speakers. I play each track before posting to double check quality but some still might require a clean after being dormant for a while. I can combine postage up to three records a time and all tracks are posted in cardboard mailers.
