Shango is an album by Nigerian afrobeat tenor saxophonist, and member of the African Messengers, Peter King.
Afro-funk and Afro-soul masters from the vaults of Lagos. Fully remastered from original source tapes.
Recorded at Camden Town Studios London, 1974.
Never released until 2002.
Great afro beats, loaded with James Brown-ish guitar rifs and baselines that would do Bootsie Collins proud. Absolutely solid jazz-funk with an african theme!
