Pink Fairies - Never-Neverland - First Press
Original 1971 UK Polydor issue with fold out sleeve, printed inner and purple screen printed PVC outer
Polydor 2383 045 SUPER
The music is heavy guitar driven bluesy prog with nods to Hawkwind, Edgar Broughton
and a dash of hippy trippy flower power. Emerging from the ashes of The Deviants,
the Fairies on this disc are Twink, Paul, Russell and Sandy
The tracks are
Side 1
1. Do It
2. Heavenly Man
3. Wargirl
4. Never-Neverland
Side 2
1.Track One SIde Two
2. Thor
3. Teenage Rebel
4. Uncle Harry's Last Freakout
5. The Dream Is Just Beginning
The music was recorded at Command studios and produced by The Pink Fairies helped by Neil Slaven.
I'll be honest the disc looks like it's been to a few parties what with six or so dings or scuffs and a hand full of small surface scratches
but it retains a deep sheen nonetheless, so I still rate it VG condition as it plays through without sticking or skipping.
However, a fair amount of crackle and occasional pop have to be noted in the quieter songs; this is distracting
but in fact most of the music has a real power and of course the louder it is the less you notice the surface noises.
There is no groove wear, distortion or any such audio degradation. The dynamics are great.
These old heavy weight vinyl pressings could withstand a good deal of abuse!
Both labels, as you can see in the close ups are pristine!
The cover is in VG+ condition with no tears or writing but there is a small amount of light creasing due to thumb impressions.
The printed paper poly-lined inner is intact albeit a little creased and crumpled
but the deep blue and white photo and text is unfaded and only slightly yellowed. One 3 inch seem split.
As a complete first press it would be an excellent starter copy or upgrade.
These don't appear very often and hardly ever with the PVC outer included. This is a real gem of a disc and unique of it's kind.
After a long break from selling I am once again beginning with some of my prized
Books, Videos, DVDs, Tapes and Records; LPs, 12" and 7" singles and EPs.
I live in France and all items for sale are here also. I have graded all items honestly and
according to accepted guidelinesafter careful observations or listening on a high end system.
Items will be carefully packed for shipping but because these are used items and unique pieces I cannot offer guarantees thus no returns.
