Description

An original very 1st press of PAIR on UK Harvest. Matrix 1/1/1/2 - very 1st cut. Note the labels mention 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text. The January 1974 copies should, in theory, come with the earliest iteration cover. As shown here in the top right panel on the front - the photo is of a Dentist who who went by the name of 'Dr.Phang' [!]. Later copies were forced to remove Dr.Phang and replace him with a picture of a monk. The gatefold cover is constructed of good strong card. We have the original green and blue inner sleeve. 3 corners die-cut as per 1st issue. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+) In fantastic condition and has only seen the very lightest use. Under close inspection I can only make out one very slight mark per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Please note a lot of the audio from this period of FLOYD is extremely fussy. It really requires a very clean signalled copy. And a copy playing consistently clean at this level is unusual - someone would have to have looked after it very very carefully over a 48 year period. Both discs are playing superb. 'Set The Controls' for one is mega hard to find playing properly clean as is 'See Saw'. All I could make out was one tiny solitary tick midway through See-Saw. Super clean into all those super fussy moments. All I can make out are a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. An absolute show stopper. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex-) Looking significantly better than many original specimens - don't underestimate this grading. This example seems to have avoided most of the ageing process. White's are white and colour retention is really good - just very slightest handling. The interior looks excellent. Very little edge wear. Sharp and firm openings. The spine is 100% intact - I would imagine this is pretty difficult to find. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A super specimen.
Inners (Ex)  No splits. No ageing. Nice!
