The earliest stamper possible on Side 1 and the second earliest possible on Side 2! Needless to say, this is one of the very first copies of the album ever pressed. It has the earliest "Magdalene Music" publishing credits on every song, which would be changed in later pressings when Waters-penned songs would be credited to "Lupus Music Ltd." instead
THE VINYL IS VERY GOOD but no higher, it has some clear signs of being used and played on both sides with some sleeve removal hairline marks and the odd scuff mark / scratch too but nothing too major. There are visible spindle trails and marks but again, nothing too offensive. The vinyl plays nicely on my deck and sounds good but with some surface noise / crackle throughout that is more noticeable in the more atmospheric / quieter parts of the music such as passages on "Set The Controls" and the title track. There are some ticks / pops in places too. It's clear that this record was played and enjoyed back in it's day but also that good care was taken of it. The vinyl does have a slight edge warp but I cannot detect any effect on the audio at all on my turntable, even when listening with headphones. It's not a perfect record, please don't expect a Near Mint LP but it does provides a solid and enjoyable listening experience through and through; This tube cutting really sings!
THE COVER IS VERY GOOD -, Garrod & Lofthouse flipback with a bit of a darker tint to it. It's holding together nicely but it does show signs of storage and usage with some thumbnail marks and other bits of wear on the laminate near the openings, some very slight ring wear, wear to the corners, some slight foxing on the openings and most noticeably a portion of the upper rear flipback which has some creasing / crumpling and lifting in the corner where it meets the other flaps - it's not too bad but definitely worth mentioning, I think with a little care it could be glued back down with no problems at all. The spine text is nice and clear and overall while the cover has wear it still feels nice to hold and look at.
THE INNER SLEEVE IS A PLAIN WHITE PAPER ONE FROM THE ERA, IT'S IN AN ALRIGHT SHAPE. UNFORTUNATELY NO ORIGINAL EMI ADVERTISING INNERS WITH THIS ONE :(
