Description

An original later 70's Harvest label of DSOTM. Sometimes we can be a little hasty in overlooking late 70's copies. They are often within 5 years of the original masters and totally analogue. Ok, they're not going to be pressed as heavy as a 1973 copy - but some of the pressings, like the one we have here, were still from pretty decent stock. Matrix A9/B10. The vinyl comes housed in a late 70's cover. Still looking very nice - they're not quite as solid as the early copies though. There are  NO STICKERS or POSTERS. Would be of interest to someone looking to get some superb audio without breaking the bank.
Vinyl (Ex-) In nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. There is one light trail over a few tracks on side 1. It's not feelable - and you know what...I'm barely hearing it in the audio. Maybe it's causing a few sporadic crackles - but this is absolutely not a deal-breaker. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a  mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Not perfectly quiet - so the real hifi huts requiring absolute perfection need not apply. But still a very capable and excellent performer. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. You're going to get the occasional static crackle here and there in the 1st half of side 1 - probably due to that mark mentioned above. But it's all pretty low in the mix and doesn't seem to distract or annoy at all. Like I said - this is a very capable performer for the late-70's. The only slight disappointment is 'Us And Them'. I'm getting a few static crackles here and there, and the occasional few minor ticks. It still plays fine - but not quite as clean when compare back to the rest of the LP.  Overall a very entertaining listen. When you hear DSOTM on a proper decent analogue cut you can get to fully appreciate why it caused such a stir first time round.
Cover (Vg+) This late 70's cover is not quite as impressive as the '73 version. But, hey, you know what is still manages to convey the aesthetic very well. Lovely deep blacks front and back. Bit of light handling in places - but looking much better than many examples. A bit of edge wear in places - but not too bad at all. The spine looks really good - no issues. Nice firm openings. The interior is looking superb - no issues at all. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
