Description

The original 1979 Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab audiophile edition of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon, pressed in Japan by JVC and half-speed mastered by Stan Ricker. The SR/2 signatures are present in the runouts.

This is the desirable early MFSL presentation with the straight “Original Master Recording” banner across the top of the sleeve. The MFSL promotional insert is included and remains particularly well preserved, as shown in the photographs.

The sleeve shows substantial age-related rubbing and wear. Most importantly, the top seam has two significant split sections of approximately 8cm and 5cm, with roughly 20cm remaining intact through the centre. The vinyl itself is a much stronger VG+.

Condition

Sleeve: VG
General surface rubbing, edge wear and handling marks throughout. The top seam has two significant splits, approximately 8cm and 5cm, with around 20cm remaining intact through the centre. The top seam damage would grade closer to G+ in isolation and is fully disclosed and photographed.

Vinyl: VG+
Retains a good gloss with light signs of handling and play consistent with the grade.

MFSL promotional insert and inner sleeve included. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition assessment.
