Description

An original 1st press of MORE on UK Columbia from 1969. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. Careful on this release - there are many variations and it's easily confused. REAL 1st pressing must exhibit the ONE EMI box label design. It must also, importantly, mention the 'Sold In The UK' statement in the perimeter text along the bottom of the label [this is the real clincher]. The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover with pinched spine. And, again, be careful here. The rear must exhibit flipbacks and the image on the rear must have a green hue - and the couple must be facing WEST. If you can tick all of those boxes - then you can be confident in claiming true 1st press. Also included is the original sepia inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) An absolutely beautiful slab of vinyl which has clearly seen only light use. And believe me - you're really going to need it on this fussiest of PF titles. Both sides are shiny like mirrors with only a couple of very superficial marks observable per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of minor deviations. Intros and inbetweens are exceptionally quiet - and boy are you gonna need that. Anything else and it's just game over immediately. The audio clarity is absolutely top-level allowing you to hear deep into the mix. I'm not sure I've ever witnessed a better playing copy. 'Main/Dramatic Theme'- are like way cooool...I love it. I detected a few very low-level crackles in the 'Crying Song', and a couple of isolated clicks - but it's still playing way better than what typically surfaces. A touch of lightest static in 'Quicksilver' - which I'd imagine is practically impossible to avoid entirely. By and large this copy is playing exceptionally clean - consistently. I think equalling it would be a hard task - let alone bettering it.
Cover (Ex) In fantastic condition and is looking very sprightly considering it's technically from the sixties. A lovely clean shiny front cover with only two minor creases observable. The rear is usually the area which lets the side down - but not here! It seems to have pretty much avoided the ageing that usually exhibits. It's pretty clean looking with flipbacks all secure. Edge wear is very minor and the spine 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Pristine looking with only lightest evidence of ageing.
