Description

PINK FLOYD       Piper At The Gates Of Dawn  Capitol ST 6242

This is a stone original Canadian Capitol 6000 Series (Compo) Stereophonic pressing of Pink Floyd's mindblowing debut long player, "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn". Brilliant psychedelia from the fertile mind of Syd Barrett and company. Probably the best listen of this recording after the Columbia UK Stereo press. Hate to see this one go, but economic pressures take priority.

Dead Wax Info: Side 1 has YAX - 3419 and TG all etched into the run-out. Side 2 has YAX - 3420 and TG all etched into the run-out.

Vinyl Visual Grade:  VG at least and probably close to VG+ with some marking of a very superficial nature (mostly handling). Has obviously been played sparingly indicated by the very few spindle marks on label. Conservatively graded.

Vinyl Play Grade: VG+ with EXCELLENT fidelity and some slight static noise, mostly noticeable in between tracks. A lot of this lp plays as new, but there is some low level noise on the quiet parts of POW R. TOC H. and Interstellar Overdrive. Having said that, the fidelity of this player jumps right off the grooves.

Cover Visual Grade: VG+ at least with no ring wear on front or rear cover. The white back has retained its' brilliance and the seams and spine are all EXCELLENT. The only thing holding this one back from NM is a very minor ding bottom front left corner and some very slight feathering at the cover opening. VERY SWEET, INDEED. You would be hard pressed to find a better cover of this 48-year old album.

Inner sleeve is non-original plain white paper which I have lined with an Audiophile style plastic rice inner.

Hello all. My name is Jamie and I have been collecting records for 40+ years. It is time to trim down my unmanageable inventory. My tastes run all over the sonic map, so there should be something for almost everyone.

ALL records will have been visually inspected under BRIGHT incandescent light with extreme scrutiny.

ALL open records will have been play graded using a Thorens TD 165 turntable and Yamaha amplifier (JBL reference headphones). Treble set high so nothing will be hidden in my grades. My grading is as follows:

M or Mint - NOT USED as there is no such thing as perfection.

NM or Near Mint - No significant markings - sealed or RARELY played.

VG+ - Minimal marking - none of which significantly affects fidelity of lp.

VG - Minimal to modest marking which affects lp but not to the point of distraction.

G - Modest marking but still VERY listenable, depending on your ears.

I WILL NOT SELL ANY LP AT LESS THAN G UNLESS THERE IS SIGNIFICANT HISTORICAL VALUE ATTACHED TO THE LP.

ALL COVERS WILL HAVE DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF ALL FLAWS.

I USE PROPER RECORD MAILERS WITH STIFFENERS AND PADDED CORNERS. I HAVE BOUGHT TOO MANY RECORDS ON EBAY WITH DINGED CORNERS FROM INSUFFICIENT PACKAGING. BY PADDING THE CORNERS WITH FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP (WHICH I DO) , YOU CAN BE SURE OF RECEIVING AN LP WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE CORNERS.

SHIPPING FEES:

Shipping will be $10 U.S. for anywhere in the U.S. as long as the weight is under 500 grams after packaging.

ON PACKAGES OVER 500g, PLEASE WAIT FOR PROPER INVOICE. MOST LPS CAN BE SHIPPED AS UNDER 500 GRAMS.

Other countries (including Canada), please refer to the Canada Post rates which should be available on the ebay shipping details within the listing.

Returns accepted within 14 days (and with good reason).

I AM A REASONABLE PERSON. I WILL ONLY CHARGE FOR ACTUAL SHIPPING, AND NONE OF THE PACKAGING COSTS. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE BOUGHT ITEM, PLEASE WORK WITH ME TO FIND A SOLUTION THAT WILL BE TO YOUR LIKING. thanks for this
