Description

An original 1st press of Relics on the UK Starline label from '71. Matrix A1/B2 - very 1st cut. Stampers 1-PA/2-LR. Please note the label perimeter text still mentions "Gramophone" and this singles this copy out as a 1st issue. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue heavy-textured cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse with pinched spine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few light superficial marks either side - nothing troublesome or heavy though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All I could detect was a couple of light ticks toward the end of track 2 - Eugene and then the deviation is just a bit of of static, as is common, in 'Cirrus Minor' - nothing invasive. A very solid performer with little to take issue with.
Cover (Ex-) Has been looked after down the years and remains in very decent condition. Most importantly it appears to have avoided the worst of the ageing process which afflicts many examples. I can only make out the some light handling front and back. Edge wear is relatively light for this title too. The spine is ok with most text still legible barring the 's' of 'Relics'.
