Description
One of the hardest early Floyd albums to find, particularly in Mono, much scarcer than the Mono " Piper " .Complete with its flipback Garrod and Lofthouse sleeve this copy has the " sold in UK..." inscription and ofcourse the reference to " The Gramophone Company",and proper sepia advertising inner, this copy also boasts early mother/stamper details.Side 1 is 1 and P, while side 2 shows 1 and M .The cover is free of all names, pen marks, or laminate damage from label removal, and other than some light surface marks is in great condition for a 38 year old record,only the lightest of storage wear,will cautiously grade as VG+.The advertising inner is in excellent condition.The vinyl has had an easy life.Only played twice by me in 5 years,once to grade once to enjoy.The usual light surface marks, but definitely no skips, jumps, tics, a good solid piece of 60's vinyl , no dullness and no written names on the label, or lose of label detail,or any tell-tale signs of a hammered album.The playgrade is near excellent ,full sound detail,NO distortion, only the lightest of static in a few places mainly between tracks, but nothing that detracts or distracts from the full blooded music.The band,now without Syd Barrett, pushed the "spacey " theme to new limits musically, if you want to enjoy " Set the Controls for the heart of the Sun " in full blooded MONO in all its intricate sound detail this copy Will Not Disappoint. A super scarce first press Floyd album in thundering Mono in great condition for its 38 years, and from my own collection, modest start as ever....and much much harder to find than a mono copy of " Piper" which are pretty frequently offered. My usual guarantee its not a lucky boot/charity shop find, it will be shipped to the winner Special Delivery, it is a rather special album, but I'll only be charging for normal postage.
