Description
Hello there and welcome to my auction. Please read my descriptions carefully before you bid. Please make sure you read everything especially the condition of each vinyl. The grading and criteria are below.
This is an auction for: Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon - RARE Original Vinyl LP album 1973.
Original UK First Pressing with Solid Blue Triangle centre label.
Matrix:
SHVL 804 A-2 "GGH" (Stamped at about the 4 0'clock position on the runout)
"5" (Stamped at about the 10 0'clock position on the runout)
SHVL 804 B-2 CGL (Stamed on side 2. It could be GGC or CGL it is not 100% clear but is one of the two).
PLEASE NOTE: This will NOT suit fussy collectors but will make a good entry level for someone wanting the original at a fraction of the price of a better one.
Has two posters and two stickers which are in good condition. Some creases but overall good condition.
Vinyl Condition: Fair (Record has a lot of surface marks, scuffs and scratches on both sides. There is some circumference wear in a couple of places and some feelable scratches. However the record plays so much better than it looks. The record plays rather well. There is surface crackle throughout and lots of clicks and pops in places and a few places where a few louder crackly sounds are heard but no sticks or jumps at all. The record plays all the way through and is still very enjoyable. There are some scratches which cause a number of continuous clicks, more noticeable in quieter parts but is still listenable. There are a number of rather audible continuous clicks on “The Great Gig in the Sky” which is a pity but again at least it plays through. There are some large scratch lines across side one which have also scratched the centre label on side 1. There are spindle marks on both sides. Overall the record has been well played but would make a good entry level for someone looking for the first solid blue triangle of this classic album. This will NOT suit fussy collectors but will be perfect for someone who wants a playable original at a fraction of the price of a perfect one).
Inner Sleeve Condition: VG (Black inner sleeve is MISSING. I have included a new plain white polylined inner to keep the record tidy).
Outer Sleeve Condition: G (Sleeve is the original sleeve with the slight blue tint. It has a lot of rubbing on the front and back and some edge and corner wear & creasing but is decent for its age and is intact. Some wear to the spine. Overall sleeve is looking rather rubbed but is pretty good).
I grade my vinyl’s as follows:
M = Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Unplayed and sealed records are referred to as Mint.
Ex = Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have minimal wear and/or creasing.
VG = Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.
G = Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
Fair = The record shows signs of extensive play and may have many marks and deep scratches but will still play ok but with significantly lower sound quality. Artwork will be rather worn with possible splits, small rips, scrapes, dents, or maybe water damage.
If you would like further information on sleeve or record condition then please email me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Please note: Due to the large amount of CD’s and records that I am selling, I don’t have time to include the track listings. If the track listing is important to you then please email me and I will send you the track list.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR POSTAGE ADDRESS IS UP TO DATE AND CORRECT BEFORE BIDDING.
