Description
A 1st pressing of 'Wish You Were Here' on the UK Harvest label from 1975. Matrix A1/B3. Stampers 1-GMG/2-GOH. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover with pinched spine. 1st issue copies would have been purchased with black sealed wrapper with a 'Wish You Were Here' sticker. This copy is opened, but much of the wrapper is still present as is the sticker. Even with the breather hole is still apparent. The shaped inner sleeve is original and present. Whilst we don't have a 1st issue serrated edge postcard we do have an original 2nd issue postcard to complete the set.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb shape and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is minor and infrequent. Please be aware that all original copies will exhibit a touch of light static in track 1 - it is pretty much inevitable. But other than that any interference is minor in nature and only fleeting. The audio, as you can imagine, is top-draw and coming from an early copy this is no major surprise. A great example of the true 1st pressing.
Cover (Ex+) Ok, so we're not grading the black wrapper - that is up to you how you want to assess it. One big benefit of it being kept in the wrapper down the years is that the cover has been remarkably well preserved. These covers are white and non-laminated - and that is a nightmare to keep clean down the decades. This copy is borderline pristine. Other than the very lightest ageing, on the extreme opening edge, it is near perfect. NO nasty creases or marks at all. And most importantly the white is still pure white! Edge wear is super light and the spine is 100% intact. Difficult to imagine going any better than this copy.
Inner (Ex) Just the lightest handling wear. No rips or seam splits.
