Description

HERE IS A SUPERB RARE COLLECTORS PIECE   :A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS. PINK FLOYDS FOLLOW UP TO THEIR DEBUT - THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN.

PINK FLOYD - "A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS" 1968 UK 1st Pressing Stereo COLUMBIA LP "Gilmore" Mis-spelling on Side 2 Label & Cover* This rare 1968 Stereo 1st pressing is on the UK black & blue Columbia label : SCX 6258 Matrix numbers: YAX 3633-1 & YAX 3634-1 Both labels carry the "Sold in UK subject to....." text & "The Gramophone Co. Ltd..." rims. The side 2 label and rear cover have David Gilmour's name mis-spelt as "Gilmore". Housed in its front laminated, tri-flipback Garrod & Lofthouse stereo cover, complete with its original burgundy? & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve. COVER : Excellent Shows no fading, has been stored in protective plastic sleeve for ALL of it's life. There are a few tiny edge crinkles . The corners display some very light wear but no heavy bumps All intact and square. There is some light wear to the opening edges, where the laminate stops. there are no tears whatsoever. The matt rear panel is clean with no fading, vinyl ringwear, marks, writing or damage of any significance. The inner sleeve is clean and unmarked. All flipbacks are firm and intact with a few minor crinkle in the laminate only. All seams are intact and undamaged and the spine is straight and uncreased. LABELS : Very Good Both sides are clean and bright but do inevitably display some spindle traces VINYL : Very Good Both sides are clean and bright but do display a few slight surface scuffs and removal marks. There are NO deep scratches or other major faults. I have played this through both sides and can guarantee no jumps, skips or pops. However there is a little faint crackling on the odd occasion. In my opinion for a record of this type , it is nothing compared to most records of this pychadelic music that has been to the extreme and at the harshest of parties.. As this LP is around 38 years old, and has been played, some minor usage wear must be expected.  Obviously, if you're looking at this item I will not need to describe the music, it will be well known to all. If you require any further information,  please email me .
