Description
Dark Side Of The Moon UK first press solid blue triangle A2/B2 matrices. Overall condition play tested. Side 1 I rate a solid VG+++/EX. There are surface clicks on the run in and out of side 1 and in quite passages throughout but this is not intrusive and this is common on the early pressings. There is approximately 60 seconds of quiet ticks at the end of "On The Run" through to the start of "Time" but not too intrusive. At the end of the track there is a couple of loud cracks. No jumps so plays through uninterrupted as does side 2. Side 2 again in quite passages throughout there is the usual surface noise, clicks and ticks but nothing intrusive, the only exception is on "Us And Them" where there are a few ticks and crackles in the quite passages and at the runout at the end of the side. Over all this side is EX. Visually there are many hairlines and surface scratches in strong light, the vinyl has a good lustre and shine. Side 2 is visually in the main much the same but a few notable marks on the inner tracks. There is no warping, it is a nice flat copy. The inner labels show some spindle marks but nothing out of the ordinary for an l.p. of this age, the lables are clean and clear with now writings. The outer cover is EX overall with small sticker mark on top left hand corner, strong spine but with some ringwear and slight scuffiing from storage and very minor creasing, it has the distinctive blue-black colour that sets it apart from later issues. The 2 stickers and are EX condition, the black inner sleeve with silver text have some slight tears at the opening but otherwise all VG.. To sum up this is not a reference copy but plays very well indeed, the sound is clear and dynamic on my hi end system (30k) with no sticks, skips or jumps. I have a number of copies of this l.p. and much of the surface noise is present on each one of them to some degree, even my reference copy. I have given an honest and detailed description but am not a professional seller, I am however passionate about my hobby and a perfectionist and no vinyl l.p. in my book is perfect, but this is a very decent copy. Many copies sold are visually graded which to me is pretty useless as an l.p can look perfect but can play with many defects. I will package well with stiffners and remove the l.p. from outer sleeve to prevent damage. No reserve on this item. PayPal only. Auction will run to end. Thanks for looking.
