This is one of the more common titles on the Justice label, to be sure. But even so, it commands a handsome price at collector's shows, and ALWAYS sells. The Barracudas were a teen garage  (pre-punk quasi-psyche) rock band out of Highland Springs VA, cutting their teeth on other local acts like SHORTCROSS (a favorite of the teenage Bruce Springsteen, who played here on weekend jaunts with his band Child, and later Steel Mill).

 What makes THIS PARTICULAR lp worth bidding on is it's condition. Common used copies bring a couple of hundred dollars easily. This one was SEALED. I opened it to verify the disc inside. (Justice didn't routinely seal their lps. I believe this one was "sealed" at the G.C. Murphy Co., where it apparently was originally purchased in the 60's for $2.77!)   The record inside is an unplayed, gorgeous copy, with full, high gloss lustre on both the vinyl AND the labels. The labels are a bright, unfaded gold.  I am grading the record VG+, being conservative. The COVER is perfect. There is NO fading, NO wear, no sign of aging.

 The 11 songs on this LP are: 1) I Can't Believe, 2) Not Fade Away, 3) I Call Your Name, 4) Gloria, 5) Blue Blue Feeling, 6) I'm a Lover Not A Fighter, 7) I'll Never Fall Again, 8) Feel A Whole Lot Better, 9) All My Lovin', 10) I'm A Man, 11) Shot Gun.    Note the unusual number of ORIGINAL MATERIAL songs on this lp. While they were primarily a "cover band" in the clubs, they DID do some of their own songs, even producing a local single written by member Chris Layne.

  This is truly INVESTMENT GRADE, one you will never need to upgrade. All Justice albums are rare. Even the BEST SELLERS on Justice sold only a few hundred copies at best. And finding them unplayed today, 40 years later, is nearly impossible!  It was primarily an independant Winston Salem, North Carolina label that anyone with a few hundred dollars of backing money could get an album  released on.  Some of the titles on Justice were pressed in quantities of about 50 to 100. That's all the kids could afford to finance!  I think most, if not all Justice lps were pressed locally by Snyder pressing.

  I'm starting the bidding on this one well below it's value.  I'm sure you'll appreciate that it's well underpriced, and bid accordingly.  Here's your chance to own a gorgeous 60's independant classic.  Around central VA, the Barracudas RULED during the mid 60's!

 Oh... and those earlier mentioned bands?  Shortcross disbanded about the time that Steel Mill disbanded. Just about the time Springsteen was forming Dr. Zoom (and the Sonic Boom).  Velpo, the leader of Shortcross, joined Robbin Thompson, from Steel Mill. Robbin and Velpo are still together to this day, in the Robbin Thompson Band.  Bruce is STILL a fan! (Go ahead.... ASK him!)
