Description

Up for sale is an exceptional, highly collectible slice of original 1980 punk rock history: an original UK first pressing of New Hope for the Wretched by the Plasmatics (Catalog: Stiff Records SEEZ 24). This highly coveted variant features the rare, beautiful yellow transparent vinyl with heavy dark green and black marbled splatter streaks—making it an absolute must-have for curators of classic punk, alternative rock, and shock-rock counterculture memorabilia. Pressing Details & Curation Features:

  • The Jacket Art: Features the legendary imagery of Wendy O. Williams on the hood of a moving Cadillac being driven into a swimming pool. The front cover proudly includes the iconic, era-authentic printed red oval price label banner: "PAY NO MORE THAN £3.99", certifying it as part of the prized original UK first-market export run.
  • Deep Analog Sound: Original early Stiff Records pressings offer the raw, high-impact analog punch and grit that modern digital reissues completely lack.
Tracklist:
  • Side One: Tight Black Pants, Monkey Suit, Living Dead, Test Tube Babies, Won't You, Concrete Shoes, Squirm (Live).
  • Side Two: Want You Baby, Dreamlover, Sometimes I, Corruption, Butcher Baby.
Condition Notes (Honest Curation Grading):
  • Vinyl (VG Overall): Original 1980 yellow transparent splatter vinyl pressing (Both Side 24-A and 24-B shown). The vinyl play surfaces are true vintage condition, retaining an exceptional, bright mirror-like gloss with only light surface paper scuffs and faint hairlines consistent with honest handling over the decades. The iconic pink Stiff Records center labels remain bright, clean, and completely crisp.
  • Jacket (VG Overall): Strong heavy-cardstock construction. The graphics on the front and back show deep, rich ink saturation with classic punk aesthetic yellow text block borders. Displays honest vintage edge rubbing, minor corner scuffs, and natural cardstock wear as pictured, adding true punk-rock character to the display.
Please review the high-resolution listing photos closely to inspect the exact borders, labels, and condition lines for your personal assessment. Shipping & Offers:
  • FREE SHIPPING INCLUDED! The record will be handled with expert collector care. To guarantee an absolute damage-free arrival, the vinyl disc will be removed from the main jacket during transit to eliminate any risk of split seams, and the entire package will be packed flat inside a heavy-duty, rigid cardboard record mailer.
