The Beatles Please Please Me Mono Black + Gold Label PMC1202 with the earliest Dick James credits First Pressing as released on 22 March 1963. Ernest J Day +Co Ltd laminate cover. Initial copies had Dick James credits where their recently formed company Northern Songs should have appeared Early MT Tax code Matrix XEX 421-N XEX 422-1N Mother Stamps at 9 o clock a faint 1 + at 3 o clock H I would describe the condition as Very Good according to The Rare Record Price Guide I have played the disc all the way through + it does not jump anywhere the audio is Very Good Plus with the odd crackle + hiss on quieter tracks. Some visible surface scratches present but not affecting the sound These earliest of pressings were bought by the real fanatics who rushed to purchase the Record + then played it to the point of destruction over the next 10 Years. This is a good honest copy of the earliest Dick James uncorrected Credits version a true Antique of the vinyl world. It never turns up in Mint condition + the Stereo version is now largely cost prohibitive Fresh to the market + found locally. Laminate cover excellent with large Mono + Angus McBean Credit far right .Minor rubbing to very edge of corners. The back has all of the fold over present with 4 inch split to bottom left where fold over meets cover half inch in from opening side The fold over has lifted bottom right obscuring the Stereo Catalogue No although when you push back with thumb you can read it. There is also a small half inch tear where the Record has been taken out over the years along with some discolouration to white cardboard back + small stains in places. Mercifully nobody has written their name on the record but very close inspection of the label side 2 reveals KL in black or blue ink on the black part of the label. ( Barely visible ) Labels are remarkably clean especially side 2 as you will see in clear photos These 48 year old Black + Gold first pressing have + will continue to be sound Investments if you excuse the pun ! One things for sure they can,t manufacture any more ! Sold with no Reserve !
