Description

Gold label Please Please Me - Northern Songs songwriting credits.

Fifty years old and still sounds timeless. This is your golden opportunity to own a first edition of this classic gramophone record Beatle people!

I am reluctantly selling this disc, one of the jewels in my extensive Beatles collection. As a poor mature student, I need the cash to help replace my aged laptop: with any luck, I hope to replace this rare record one day with a lucky find in a charity shop, as I did this one some years ago.

Down to the facts:

Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N
XEX 422-1N

The vinyl is not way beyond compare, both sides are subject to several scratches and scuff marks. However, the record plays very well despite surface appearances, no skips or jumps. There is a moderate amount of crackle between tracks, this surface noise is not apparent when listening to the audio itself. I played the entire platter prior to writing this appraisal, and it still rocks; especially on the song 'Boys'. It still packs a Monophonic punch! Both labels are showing some signs of their advancing years but still hold their golden historic value. The original E. J. Day & Co. sleeve is in poor condition, written on with biro (why do some people do that?) and, the upper and lower external rear flaps used to glue the jacket together, are absent, and as such the sleeve opens. The inner sleeve is original and in good condition.

I believe that I have been both honest, and accurate in my description of this item. There are better examples of this antique out there, but as pristine ones sell for princely sums, make this your chance to own one until you upgrade (ideally to a mint stereo pressing!!). I hope that the successful bidder is pleased pleased as me, the day I finally got my hands on a piece of fab 24 carat mythology! Good luck.
