Description
Offered for sale is the rare first pressing of the Beatles “Please Please Me” album released in 1963 (Mono).
Released on the Parlophone label (No. PMC 1202 – (XEX 421 & XEX 422),
This album bears the much sought after Black & Gold label together with the equally sought after “Dick James Music Co.” credits on six of the tracks.
(On the second run, four of these tracks were altered to read “Northern Songs”)
In the interests of accuracy, the album is not in mint condition and there are many scratches and marks on both sides of the record.
This is hardly surprising since I first bought it on issue in 1963 and have enjoyed playing it on many occasions (though not in recent years due to the advent of the CD).
However, I have recently copied this album on to my computer using an Ion USB turntable and have successfully copied the newly converted MP3 files to CD.
I am pleased to say that it played right through with no apparent problems.
Although some noise can be heard between tracks, there were no jumps or skips noted.
In fact, if anyone wishes to hear one of the tracks, please let me have your e mail address and I will attach one of the MP3 tracks and send it for you to listen to.
Additionally, as an extra, I will include a CD of the whole album to the successful bidder.
If anyone requires any further information or photos, please let me know and I will do my best to oblige.
This is an opportunity to obtain an example of a very rare piece of vinyl at reasonable cost
Prices for this album on Ebay have ranged from £44 for a poor copy with no cover or sleeve to £495 for an apparently mint copy in excellent condition.
This one comes with a cover (see photos) and an original Emitex inner sleeve
Accordingly, I shall list this with a starting price of £29.95.
I shall package the item as safely as I can and will charge £2.75 for 1st class post.
However, I strongly recommend the successful bidder pays for the item to be insured as I cannot be held responsible for loss or breakage whilst the item is in transit
I believe this can be obtained for approximately £4.00 in addition to postage.
Happy Bidding!
