Description

Please Please Me by the Beatles.

UK Stereo fourth pressing from 1963 the to the best of my knowledge.

PCS 3042

YEX 94 1/YEX 95 1

Mother Stamps 1 GA/1 H

Firstly, the record:

Visually pretty good. There are light scuffs on both sides & some spindle wear but nothing terribly upsetting. It's been professionally cleaned so it's nice & shiny.

Please zoom in to the pictures for more detail. I'd be happy to send more pictures on request.

I've play tested it & it sounds bright & punchy throughout without much significant deterioration in sound - no jumps or skips. The run ins are nice & quiet. I noticed 2 faint clicks on A Taste of Honey but it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the listen.

Secondly, the sleeve:

Ernest J Day flipback with early large Stereo caption.

Generally in line with the record. The spine is nice & legible & it's clean & unmarked. The corners are slightly rounded with age. There was a fairy gruesome old tape repair in the bottom right corner but I've carefully removed most of the tape & replaced it with acid free archive tape so now it doesn't look too bad although there is a little sticky residue.

There is a nice poly lined inner but it's not an original emitex one.

Further notes:

KT tax code on side A. This makes me think it's probably a late 4th pressing. 5th pressings generally had times new roman labels & smaller Stereo captions.

In summary- not a museum piece but an outrageously rare record in decent enough condition. Stereo copies of this disk were hardly pressed until the 1970s silver labels so finding a serviceable 1963/64 copy is a needle in a haystack. A similar copy (admittedly with a tidier sleeve) just sold for £573 so £44 seems like a good starting price.

More Beatles to be listed in the next 24 hours.

Offers welcome.

I post promptly and securely second class to keep costs down and I sometimes use recycled packaging.

Polite disclaimer:

If you don't have the means to pay for a bid within 48 hours of sale then please let me know before bidding.

Also if you intend making an offer but you have further questions about the items for sale, then you should ask them *prior to making that offer. By making an offer you are committed to the sale should the retailer accept it as per eBay terms and conditions. Sorry to have to mention this but I've suffered some frankly rotten buying etiquette recently.

Domestic or GSP buyers only please.

Check out my feedback, bid with confidence, & thanks for looking
