Description
Vinyl pressing of Poetry Out loud Number 1 from 1969. The other 9 volumes were pressings of 1,000. Number 1 was pressed in a quantity of 500. This is amazing, tripped out, spoken psychedelia with effects. If you haven't heard it you need to give one a listen. I found the below description on Popsike. Apparently the seller came across about 5 sealed complete sets. Nice find. I was happy just finding number one !
Original copies of this stunning full 10 LP series, which ran from 1969 to 1977. Primarily based around various vocal/sound poetry collaborations between two couples, Klyd and Linda Watkins and Peter and Patricia Harleman (solo or multilayered voice with very sparse instrumentation/effects), these LPs bridge the gap between private press "folkiness", Euro academic sound art, and desolate Jandek-like atmospheres. And strangely they managed to rope in Bernard Heidsieck, one of the founders of the sound poetry movement along with Henry Chopin and others, as well as the lesser known Françoise Janicot. Truly "heavy" sounds.
