The Tropic Rot is the fifth studio album from Florida post-hardcore band Poison the Well, released in 2009 through Ferret Music. The album sees the band returning to a heavier and more aggressive sound following the more experimental direction of Versions, while still incorporating melodic songwriting, atmospheric elements, and unconventional instrumentation.
Produced by Steve Evetts, The Tropic Rot features tracks including “Exist Underground,” “Sparks It Will Rain,” “Cinema,” “Pamplemousse,” “Who Doesn't Love a Good Dismemberment?,” “Antarctica Inside Me,” “When You Lose I Lose As Well,” “Celebrate the Pyre,” “Are You Anywhere?,” “Makeshift Clay You,” and “Without You and One Other I Am Nothing.”
The vinyl edition also includes the bonus tracks “D10 D11” and “Deportation Spreads.”
